Audition
To schedule an audition for the Pasadena Master Chorale, please email us with your contact information and a resume that includes your vocal training and experience. A representative of the Chorale will be in touch with you to arrange an audition. Be sure to read the information below regarding what to expect at the audition.
The audition consists of two parts:
1) A solo
Please prepare a solo with piano accompaniment. PMC provides the accompanist. All the singer needs to bring is a copy of the music for both the accompanist and the Artistic Director.
2) Musicianship
Several short musicianship exercises including: listening to and singing back patterns of notes, sight reading a tonal melody and performing a simple rhythm.
3) Reading
Sight-reading your part of a short 4-part excerpt from the choral repertoire while an accompanist plays with you.
